Over 250 local women have joined 100+ Women Who Care Lincoln County since its October inception. Meeting quarterly at local businesses, the organization serves as a conduit to provide funds to support non-profits making an impact in our area. As a result of the October meeting, Stepping Stones Housing in Damariscotta received a Major Impact award which they put toward completing the renovation of a 3-bedroom home for a working family. Smaller financial awards were awarded to both Boothbay Regional Community Resource Council and Damariscotta-based Coastal Kids preschool based on their participation.  

To date, 100+ Women Who Care Lincoln County has approved 29 non-profits that include: Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Science; Blessings in a Backpack at Jefferson Village School; Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library; Boothbay Region Community Resource Council; Boothbay Region YMCA; Boothbay Sea & Science Center; Charles and Constance Schmid Land Preserve; Coastal Kids Preschool; Community Energy Fund of Lincoln County; Community Housing Improvement Project: Central Lincoln County YMCA; Damariscotta Montessori School; Darrowby Farm Sanctuary; Francis Perkins Center; Healthy Kids; Healthy Lincoln County; Hearty Roots; Historic Alna; Jefferson Area Community Food Pantry; Lincoln County Dental; Lincon County Historical Society; Maine Art Gallery; Midcoast Humane; Skidhompha Library; Stepping Stone Housing; Veggies to Table; Veterans Writing Project, and Waldo Theatre. The organization encourages members to nominate a non-profit that serves our community so they can keep the list growing.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bigelow Laboratory in Boothbay where attendees can expect light bites, warm drinks, cash bar courtesy of Mine Oyster, and inspiring company.
